Martin William Kenney

In 1889 Martin entered the conference of the Wesleyan Methodist churchserving two years in South Dakota and four years in Iowa. In 1895 hecame to minnesota and joined the Minnesota confernce of the Methodistchurch in which he has served through these years. He has heldpastorates in the following churches; LaCrescent, Money Creek, Stockton,Lyle, Le Suerur Center, Sherburne, St. Charles, N. St. Paul, Medford, St.Peter, Elysian, and Alden. After retiring in 1929 he moved to Farmingtonand later served this church for three years.
Mr. Kenney was married to Miss Carrie Berdine, Nov. 20, 1888 and to themtwo daughters were born, Arla and Gladys.
Mrs. Kenney passed away in the early winter of 1933 and was buried in theCorinthian cemetery of Farmington.
Later Mr. Kenney was married to Miss Dorothy Bennett of Madison Lake,Minnesota, who survivies him with the two daughters, two granddaughtersand two great granddaughters.
Rev. Kenney suffered a stroke some 30 days ago from which he was unableto recover. Obituary - Dakota County Tribune - February 9, 1944
