Melanie Homick

Melanie was a title searcher at InterCounty Title Company when she andJim met. Melanie was divorced and the mother of one son, Richard WayneMerrill.
Richard was adopted by Jim after Jim and Melanie were married.
Melanie has suffered from rheumatoid arthritis since 1980 and has hadmany surgeries - hands and feet have been rebuilt and she has had kneereplacement. She was forced to leave her job and to take disability in1997.
Melanie married John Sayne several years after Jim's death, and theycontinued to live in the Packard Street home that Melanie and Jimshared. The home burned and was later rebuilt.
Melanie spent several weeks in Sierra Nevada Hospital. Her sisters Lorenand Susan, brother Richard, and husband John Sayne visited her often. Ispent several hours at her bedside as well.
Memorial Service was held at Abundant Life Church in Grass Valley onDecember 19, 2009.
