Signe Kristine Olson

1900 Census for Steele County, Westfield Township notesthat Signe is 12 years old, immigrated in 1890. She was in sixth
grade in school, could read and write English. Signe is in the backrow of the Westfield School picture taken in 1905, her name
does not appear on the list of pupils for the school yearOctober 15, 1906 to May 17, 1907.
Signe's [little girl] bunnad was found in Anna Olson's trunk in 1967and given to Esther Olson Rydland along with passage
papers of Signe and their mother Anna LouiseEriksen.
Signe attended Oak Grove Seminary in Fargo, ND. She was a talentedartist and designed and painted china plates. Per-Harald Jensen lists her profession as dressmaker in his genealogy. Signenever married.
She was ill a good deal of life with a crippling form of arthritis.Her father Daniel took her to doctors in many parts of the country in an attempt to cure her ailment. She died of tubercularmenigitis July 27, 1921.
